Le Mans - 10 am to the flag

Here we are, still going with 5 hours to go to the finish of the race, that's basically the full distance of a normal Le Mans series 1000 kms race. Johnny put in a solid stint and handed over to Marc, who basically did the same, maintaining the 'status quo' and holding on to the 24th place. Currently with 1.5 hours left to run, Stuart is at the wheel and has a lap in hand over the Saulnier Racing Pescarolo. Both cars are lapping at a similar pace, in the 3 minutes 47's. We are beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel...

The rain is still falling and its looking like its going to increase. There have been 15 official retirements from the race. We have just completed our 297th lap.

Catching up with Johnny Mowlem: "For me, this has personified what Le Mans is all about. The team did a great job after practice, then Stuart and I both had blow-outs; I found myself sliding along the barrier for 200 metres at 160 mph! The floor was broken in my crash, so the team glued it back together and we carried on. Without the blow-outs we would be in the top ten. "One of the blow-outs was due to a cut tyre, but mine was too badly damaged to determine the cause. Mike Jankowski had invested in tyre sensors and that saved us twice more."
